Blazer Bus Program

Transportation- Blazer Bus Program

The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø is excited to continue our partnership with  to provide bus transportation for K-12 students to and from campus. We are also thrilled to welcome back student riders from Epihany and Valley schools to participate in our program.

Beginning on the first day of school, Wednesday, September 2, The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø is thrilled to launch six bus routes—our largest offering yet—to better serve our families and expand transportation access across the region.

In direct response to community feedback, we have split our North Seattle Route into two distinct routes:
  • Northwest Seattle Route, servicing Greenwood, Phinney Ridge, Frelard, & Wallingford
  • Northeast Seattle Route, servicing Northgate, Matthews Beach, Wedgwood, & Laurelhurst

This is a meaningful step forward—and we couldn’t be prouder. The launch of two distinctive routes reflects your voices in action and our shared commitment to cultivating community and creating a more efficient, comfortable, and reliable travel experience for Bush families.

Our existing Blazer Bus routes—Magnolia/Queen Anne, Eastside 520, Eastside I-90, and South Seattle—will continue as usual. Please note one change: On the Eastside I-90 route, the Issaquah stop will shift to the Lakemont Town & Country to improve timing and streamline service.

  • Beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, an additional North Seattle route will be offered to increase options for families in both Northwest and Northeast Seattle. The two North Seattle routes will serve the Ballard, Greenwood, Phinney Ridge, Wallingford/Fremont, Green Lake, Wedgwood, Ravenna, University District, and Laurelhurst neighborhoods.

See additional bus route details, planned stops, and other key information below. If you have any questions about the bus service or the Blazer Bus Program, please reach out to bus.service@bush.edu.

Community is a core priority at The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø and our partnership with Zum Transportation allows us to facilitate a more inclusive, purposeful, and safe option for our families to come to Bush.

  • FAQs

What happens if my child misses the bus in the morning?
Families will be able to track their bus through the Zūm app to anticipate when the bus will arrive at their pick-up stop in real time. The bus will stop for three minutes at each stop. Should your child miss the bus, they will have to arrange alternate transportation to school. The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø is not responsible for your child prior to them getting on the bus.

What happens if my child misses the bus in the afternoon?
The buses will leave promptly from Bush at 3:45 p.m. every day. There are a variety of options should your child miss the bus in the afternoon depending on their division. Lower School and Middle School students will go to Extended Day. Upper School students can make their own arrangements and leave campus at any time after dismissal.

All students must be picked up by 6:00 p.m., either from Extended Day or from campus. Lower School families will be charged for Extended Day if their child(ren) misses the bus. If you receive financial aid from The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø, the cost of Lower School Extended Day is covered at the same percentage as financial aid for tuition.

What happens if my child is not a self-release student and no one is there to pick them up from the bus stop in the afternoon?

The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø will hold the child on the bus and parents can meet them at the last stop. Drivers will wait up to fifteen minutes at the last stop, and if no one shows then return the student to the Bush campus. If the child is returned to campus, the family will be assessed a $150 late fee and the child will have to be picked up from The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.

Where is my child going to be dropped off at Bush?
All children riding the bus will be dropped off at the Extended Day gate. Lower School students will be greeted by a Lower School assistant who will escort them to the library prior to the start of school.

What do I do if my child is absent from school that day?
In addition to contacting your division assistant, parents/guardians must cancel their child’s bus ride through the Zum app.

What are the latest bus pick-up and drop-off times and specific locations?
The latest bus pick-up and drop-off times are available in the Zūm app for registered families. For security reasons we cannot post them on the website.

Can I change my child’s bus stop or make changes to my child’s daily bus schedule?
For more permanent changes to your child’s daily bus schedule, such as a stop change or using different stops on different days, please email Lisa Moen, Transportation Manager at Lisa.Moen@bush.edu. The school will update its records and your changes will be reflected in the  Zūm app once that information is confirmed.

Temporary changes such as day-of-cancellations and short term changes in schedule due to vacations etc., can be made through contacting Zum by phone or within the app.

Do you offer any refunds or trial periods for the bus service?
Families that register for the semester or year-long bus program are offered a two-week trial period to start the school year. If families cancel during this trial period, they will receive a prorated refund for the rest of semester or school year. We do not offer any other refunds after the trial period is over.

Is there a bus for afterschool activities?
We are not offering a bus for afterschool activities at this time. Families are welcome to sign up for the two-month afternoon-only intervals to better fit their students’ schedules.

Why these routes, and how can I get one in my neighborhood?
These bus routes were established based on a community survey and feedback. If you would like to see a bus route in your neighborhood, we encourage you to talk to Bush families in your area to see if there is sufficient demand to establish a new route. Contact us at bus.service@bush.edu if you have any further questions.

What happens if my child loses their RFID card?
There will be a monthly issuance for students that lose their RFID card from the school. Students can ride the bus without an RFID card if needed.
